Missouri football team anticipates difficulties for upcoming travel | Mizzou Football

Columbia Regional Airport’s construction expansion has led to problems with scheduling charter flights for the MU football team. 

Missouri football coach Eliah Drinkwitz said at a news conference Tuesday the team had “a little bit of a snafu because of the Columbia Airport being under construction right now.”

For Saturday’s game in Lexington, Kentucky, Drinkwitz said half of the team’s travel party will fly out of St. Louis and the other half will fly out of Columbia.

“Potentially none of us can fly back to Columbia, depending on the weather and the weight limit on the plane,” Drinkwitz said.

Dad’s club leads to bonding for US men’s volleyball team

TOKYO (AP) — Micah Christenson’s Olympic preparation got interrupted for the best possible reason.

Christenson was playing a pre-Olympic tournament in Italy in June with the rest of the U.S. men’s volleyball team when he hopped on a plane for a trip of about 8,000 miles to head home to Hawaii for less than 48 hours to be there for the birth of his second child.

“That was a bit chaotic,” Christenson said. “That travel was all a blur. I’m thankful my teammates and coaches supported it.”
