WVSOM’s Fit Kids program promotes nutrition, health and fitness | State & Region

The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine’s (WVSOM) Center for Rural and Community Health (CRCH) is working with a group of WVSOM students to host a series of Fit Kids events aimed at promoting nutrition and fitness among area children ages 6 to 11.

The Fit Kids program began with a pilot event in May and continued with a welcome event on Aug. 22. Each session includes games and opportunities for education centered on a particular theme. City of Bloomington launches Bloomington Green Home Improvement Program

The City of Bloomington launched the Bloomington Green Home Improvement Program on Tuesday as part of Mayor Hamilton’s Recover Forward initiative, according to a press release Monday.

The program, a partnership between the city’s Department of Economic and Sustainable Environment, Community Development Financial Institutions Friendly Bloomington and Clean Energy Credit Union, is meant to support energy efficient improvements for residents of Bloomington.
